Samson OPR Fast Rope

The Samson Fast Rope, manufactured in accordance with MIL-F-44422, is an 8-strand Class I rope designed for Fast Rope Insertion & Extraction (F.R.I.E.S.) and other military or defense training applications. This rope meets operational requirements for rapid personnel insertion from helicopters into no-landing zones on both land and sea-based missions. By minimizing time on location, it helps reduce risk to both personnel and aircraft in high-threat environments.

Constructed from 100% abrasion-resistant polyester, it minimizes kinking while ensuring a smooth, controlled descent and a secure grip for safe climbing. Engineered for easy handling, sure grip, and minimal stretch, this rope features a unique blend of synthetic fibers and an eight-strand firm lay construction, allowing personnel to deploy quickly and securely.

This model includes a soft eye splice braided loop at the hook-up end, delivering an impressive 35,000 lbf tensile strength. A steel ring is installed in the splice to accommodate attachment points found on certain helicopters. Unlike standard fittings that retain only 25% of the rope’s break strength, the eye splice preserves approximately 90% of its maximum strength, ensuring superior durability and reliability.
