CMC CLUTCH™ by HARKEN™ Notice

CMC and Harken are issuing a Product Inspection Notice for the CLUTCH™ by HARKEN™ following the discovery of a loose rivet pin on one shipped 11 mm unit. As a precaution, we are asking all customers with potentially affected units to immediately inspect their devices.

What to do next

  1. Check the Serial Number
Locate the serial number on your CLUTCH and verify it falls within the affected range.
  2. Perform a Visual Inspection
On the back of the unit, inspect the rivet pin. It should have a properly formed head and should not move. Refer to the images in the full Product Inspection Notice to distinguish between a passing and failing inspection.
  3. If the Unit Fails Inspection
Fill out the Inspection Response Form so CMC can assist you with repair or replacement. CMC will provide return shipping labels and handle the repair at no cost to you.
  4. Resume Use Only When Safe
Units may be used again only after they pass inspection or have been repaired or replaced by CMC.

Regular inspection and function testing of all CLUTCH units is recommended before and after each use, and annually per the User Manual.
