Safety & Inspection Notice: CAPTO™

Columbus Supply is alerting customers to an important safety and inspection notice issued by CMC for the CAPTO™.

Affected Models & Serial Numbers

This notice potentially affects the following models:

  • CAPTO 11 MM Gray (Part # 336011)
  • CAPTO 13 MM Red (Part # 336013)

Serial numbers: 23191-001 through 26085-034

What to Know

CMC has identified certain instances where the thread locker securing the CAPTO cam set screw may not have fully cured. If the set screw becomes fully unthreaded, the cam spring may fall out, causing the cam to not function as intended.

There have been no reports of set screws coming loose in the field. This notice is issued as a precaution. CMC has corrected this issue in current and future CAPTO production.

What to Do

Inspect your CAPTO for the presence and position of the set screw to confirm it is properly installed. Additionally, inspect the pulley flange, as the same thread locker is used as a secondary method to secure it.
